Who Am I, Lord?

We're still alive, just exhausted.

This week found me asking, in a not-Betty-Friedan fashion, who am I?
The answer: not everything I want; at least, not all at once.

I had to shop and cook for a church-wide brunch, visit nursing home patients, and make my way to the Blissdom blog conference.

The conference worried me most. Forget the clothes! What would I say to the inevitable "What happened to you?"

On First Friday we met our priest at 7:30 Mass. Maybe, just this once, we'd race through our nursing home visits with time to spare?

Nope! Not only did we have our regular route, we picked up an extra 2 nursing homes, too.

It was the best morning we've ever had.

We found all our patients without delay. The kids behaved amazingly, even through the lunchtime hour. Two patients requested that we return to pray with them next week. Our priest asked me to help him create a blog.

I headed to the conference feeling like my heart would burst. What better confirmation that I had made the right choice?

  2. Why did you even go if you were so worried about it?

  3. Don't you love it! In the midst of all of this, God has given you the peace you needed to be reassured that this is the path He wants you on. The requests of the patients and your priest and the kids' good behavior were a nice bonus!

Oh, if I could only count the number of times I've answered that question with a similar response.

We're never enough, are we? Not without God, anyway.

I'd love to make it to a blog conference one of these days. Enjoy.

    Blessings.
