Hear! to your advice. Bless your Mom's heart! That whole 60-70s time was so confusing to many--even to those who were committed, faithful and striving to be a good Catholic and devastating to many who weren't paying close attention. I heard somewhere (cannot remember where) that prior to Vatican II, the substance of each Sunday's homily was somewhat prescribed--so that by proceeding through the cycle of readings a general catechisis was also taught through the homilies.
